Helena Ros

Helena Ros is a Swiss multidisciplinary artist based between Mexico and Switzerland. Helena is intent on cultivating a deeper sense of listening in the making and presenting of her music.

After many years of negating a deep call, debut album Mother Tongue surfaced in the safe quarters of her Lisbon apartment. Each song acted as an ally in the reclamation of power through voice. She began writing and composing with friend Penthesilea Roussies during the lockdown. The album was then produced by Matthis Meyer. “ Mother Tongue was born from asking, over and over, what feels true?. It was about peeling back layers of conditioning to find the voice underneath.” The result is a work that is grounded in presence and poetic vulnerability blending genres of Soul, Funk, Electronic Pop, Spoken Word, Triphop, and RnB into an analog sound.

She has performed in Mexico, Switzerland and New York, and continues to study the use of music in different cultures, languages and contexts. Her first Spanish single Sala De Estar will be released later this year.
